How to Export Google Authenticator to Your New Phone

How to Export Google Authenticator to Your New Phone

If you're switching to a new phone, here's how you can move your Google Authenticator codes easily.

Method 1: Using the Transfer Feature

1. Open the Google Authenticator app on your old phone.

2. Tap the three-dot menu (top left corner).

3. Select Transfer accounts.

4. Tap Export accounts, then enter your phone’s PIN code or use your fingerprint to continue.

5. A QR code will appear on the screen.

6. On your new phone, make sure Google Authenticator is installed and working.

7. Open the app and scan the QR code shown on your old phone.

8. Once the scan is successful, your accounts will be imported to the new device.

9. You can then choose to remove or keep the exported accounts on the old phone.

Method 2: Using the MFA Key

If you saved the MFA (2FA) setup key when you first enabled 2FA for your SIQO account (show at the red column), you can follow the same steps when you first bind your 2FA verification.

1. Open the Google Authenticator app on your new phone.

2. Tap + to add a new account.

3. Choose Enter a setup key (or "Manual entry").

4. Input the account name and your MFA key.

5. Make sure to select Time-based as the type.

6. Your 2FA will be successfully set up on your new device.
